We will be switching gears to Poetry on Day 3, so keep in mind that this is your last work period on your speech for about a week. We will select speech date/time slots on Day 3 of class. <br><br>--> In terms of your speech topics and plans for your speech, Mrs. G will check in with you directly either Day 3 this week or Day 1 of next. For the time being, proceed forward with what you are thinking/planning and we can readjust/modify as needed in the very near future. <br><br>Please complete the following this class period:<br><br>1) Speech Outline<br>-Check to make sure this is done from last class (Day 1). <br>-If you still need to work on this outline to brainstorm ideas, please do that, prior to moving on to your draft. <br>-If you are still stuck, look at the mentor speeches on GC and/or the prompts you wrote about in your comp book for inspiration. <br><br>2) First Completed Speech Draft<br>-Once finished with the Outline, you will spend the remainder of the class period beginning your first draft.  <br>-The due date of this first draft is Thursday, May 9 at 8:30am, as we will be spending class on Thursday 5/9 (a minimum day) giving peer feedback in order to prep for the delivery of speeches which start the week of May 13. <br>-Write your first draft on the document provided in this assignment posting titled, "Spring Speech | Draft 1" <br>-You will notice that there is an area for you to indicate a 'Song Selection'.  You are probably wondering, what does Mrs. G mean by "Song Selection"??  Well, after delivering your speech, the entire class will reflect privately on your speech and while doing so, your chosen song will play.  <br>This song might cater to the content/topic of your speech or it may cater to the mood/tone of your speech.  <br>It does need to be *clean* and school appropriate.
