									Now that you have done a draft of your chosen topic, today you will be looking at that topic through a different lens.<br><br>Today you will be revising your writing from last week (adding new material, cutting out things that don't work, etc.), but looking at the topic through a RAFT (Role Audience Format Topic).<br><br>Make a new doc and revise/rewrite based on your chosen topic.  We will rewrite today, continue to revise on Thursday or Friday, and you will be putting your writing into a format.<br><br><br><br>End of Year RAFT Options<br><br>#1<br>Role of the Writer: A "Retired" 6th Grade Backpack<br>Audience:    The incoming 5th-grade backpacks<br>Format: A Passing-of-the-Torch Speech<br>Topic: The heaviest/most memorable experiences carried throughout the school year.<br><br>#2<br>Role of the Writer: An Intergalactic Tour Guide<br>Audience:    Tourists from a distant galaxy<br>Format: A Travel Brochure<br>Topic: Navigating the "Strange Planet" of 6th grade and the most significant personal event that happened there.<br><br>#3<br>Role of the Writer: A Time-Traveling Future Version of Yourself<br>Audience:    The "You" from the first day of school<br>Format: A Warning (or Encouraging) Letter<br>Topic: A pivotal moment from the year and how it changed your perspective or character.<br><br>#4<br>Role of the Writer: A Nervous 6th Grade Locker<br>Audience:    The School Janitor<br>Format: An Official Maintenance Request<br>Topic: Describing the "emotional clutter" and the specific memories stuck inside its hinges from the past year.<br><br>#5<br>Role of the Writer: The Protagonist of a Best-Selling Novel<br>Audience:    A Hollywood Movie Producer<br>Format: A "Pitch" for a Sequel<br>Topic: Recounting a real-life personal challenge faced this year and why it deserves a cinematic retelling.<br>
