Mrs. Garcia's Spanish Class

My name is Monica Garcia and I am I so excited to be teaching Spanish 1 to your 7th grade students. I am looking forward to meet all and each of them.

Personally, I am from Ecuador where Spanish was my first language. However, at home we are trilingual (Spanish, English, and Italian) since my husband and my daughter are Italians. I have a B.A. and a M.A. in Latin American Studies and a M.S. in Educational Leadership. In my spare time, I can be found in my kitchen. I love to cook and, if not for my love of education and wanting to be a teacher, I would have instead been a professional chef. My husband and I share our home with our teenager daughter Carmen and two fur children: Rosie (a mighty chihuahua) and Prudence (a rescued American bulldog).

I've been teaching Spanish for over seventeen years. For five of these years, I was at Ida Price Middle School in the Cambrian School District, teaching all levels of Spanish to middle school students. I truly enjoy working at the middle school level as I believe these years are the foundation for a successful high school experience. I also believe in providing my students with the necessary skills to be successful in speaking, writing and understanding a second language and to help them build tolerance and respect for other cultures.

Please know that I am here to help your student and I am available for student assistance before school and after school, as well as at other breaks during the day with prior communication.

The best way to contact me is via email: mgarcia@lgusd.org Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.

I am so eager to meet your students and am looking forward to a fantastic school year.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Garcia
