Principal Announcement

Dear R.J. Fisher Middle School Families,
I am pleased to announce the appointment of Matthew Baldwin as principal of R.J. Fisher Middle School for the upcoming 2018-2019 school year.   Mr. Baldwin’s selection culminates a comprehensive search process that involved a wide representation of staff and parents.
Mr. Baldwin comes to Los Gatos with a wide variety of experience as the principal of Novato High School in Marin County for the past four years and as an Assistant Principal in both the Las Virgenes Unified School District and the Acalanes Union High School District.    In addition, Mr. Baldwin was a former social studies teacher for seven years.

Mr. Baldwin has an undergraduate degree from Sonoma State University and a masters in Educational Administration from California State University, Northridge.

In commenting on being selected as the new principal, Mr. Baldwin said of his appointment, "My family and I are extremely excited to be a part of the amazing school community at Fisher Middle School, as well as the greater Los Gatos community.  I am incredibly fortunate to be able to work with a talented staff, a wonderful student body, and an active and supportive parent group.  I look forward to meeting each and every one of you in the fall.  Go Trojans!"

I am thrilled we have found someone of Mr. Baldwin’s caliber to be the next principal of Fisher Middle School.    His experience with academic innovation, creating social emotional learning programs in secondary school settings, along with his extensive curriculum expertise, will be a great asset to the Fisher community and the entire Los Gatos Union School District.
I want to thank the staff, parents, and administrators who took part in the interview process!      Please join me in extending a warm welcome to Matthew Baldwin as the new principal of R. J. Fisher Middle School.

Yours in education,
Paul Johnson
