English 7 (Period 1) Assignments

Speeches begin this Thursday, May 18.  Please know your assigned speech day and come to class prepared.

 

Practice your speech five times a day until your speech day.  Preparation is one of the best ways to reduce speaking anxiety.  

 

You should plan to dress as a credible speaker.  Basically, this means to dress a level up from how you normally dress at school.

 

Notecards will be collected after you finish your speech and are worth 10 points.

Be sure to have all Giver Project paragraphs typed in Google Classroom before Thursday 4/27 at midnight.  Ms. Mathews will not be able to edit and give feedback on any paragraphs submitted after this deadline.

By Friday, you should have completed the rough draft of three paragraphs of your Giver Project:

1.  Giver Paragraph

2.  Independent Book Paragraph

3.  Real Life Event Paragraph

 

These may be hand-written on your white packet or typed.  Eventually, they will need to be typed on Google Classroom so that I can give you feedback.
