Earth and Space Science (Period 2) Assignments

 April Fools; no final in science, after all. I know it's not April, but what fun is it to do an April fools joke on April 1?

There is no homework for this week. Again I am sorry about that. I will try harder next week to torture you with some fun homework.

 

Make sure to complete your scale model. If you don't bring required supplies to finish the task, then do what you can in class and color at home.

Vocabulary definitions and pictures for your foldable. Bring in printed copy. We will finish it tomorrow. If you don't have a printer, you can send me a document to print here. You can't print to my printer from your Chromebook. Here are the words:

If you did not finish the graph portion of the cylinder lab, make sure it is completed before class on Wed/Thurs.  Plot mass vs. volume as per the directions. We will start the CER and analysis together in class.

This is due at the end of the week. Follow the directions carefully. Remember to include units (density has a fractional unit).

The quiz coming up next week will be practiced in class Friday, 10/7. It will be a paper copy that you can take home for review. Know the difference between a dependent and independent variable, and where to put each on a graph. Know which axis is x and which is y. Be able to pick the independent and dependent variable from a given statement.

We have a graphing quiz on Thursday/Friday this week. You need to know what the difference is between the 3 variable types, how to set up a graph, and labeling all parts. Check out the voiceless video (below) to help you remember: "Variables"

Graphing Practice. Purple: 3 graphs. Using color for graphing can up your grade. No penalty for not using color, but it could add a little something extra to your points. 

Notebook check on Thursday and Friday, depending on your block. I'll be checking pages 14 through where ever we leave off. 

 

We are having a real quiz on Th/F. This is about measurement and metrics. You can look at a stair step chart, but not use the notebook.
