Hi Everybody,
I've got quite a few personal things to do today. More doctor appointments and I have two kids at home with Covid in isolation. One of them is too young to leave at home on their own. I should be in tomorrow.
For today you are responsible for 4 things. Below is a list of those 4 tasks you should complete today in class. As I've said before, work independently and be respectful to your guest teacher. If you have any questions just email me.
TASK #1
Start with the "Video Review Ra Denom". This is a quick review on how to rationalize the denominator. I included a review of the unit circle for those kids who still needed a refresher.
TASK #2
Work on completing your two worksheets: (1) Rationalizing Denominators and (2) Unit Circle. Turn them in by the end of the day. And remember, this is practice. If you can't finish, don't understand, don't copy others, make good choices. You won't be penalized for wrong answers.
TASK #3
Watch "Video, More-More CH7 Prac Proos". Copy into your math notebooks.
TASK #4
Watch the Video, Calculators Explained" followed by the "Video Notes 8.3". Copy in your notebooks and don't forget to update your Table of Contents.
TASK #5
Independent work time means work on the assignments below.
ASSIGNMENTS TO DO
Assignment #65 - - Worksheet, Review for Quiz 7
Assignment #66 - - Study Plan for Quiz 7
Assignment #67 - - Worksheet, Unit Circe (and Rationalizing Denominator)
Assignment #68 - - MathXL 8.3

Due:
I am looking for 3-5 middle school students to interview for a project I'm working on in grad school. I want to explore student voices at Fisher. The goal is to hear your voice, or story, to better understand the experience and full picture of student life at Fisher.
For teachers and staff to do student-centered work and create a school environment that empowers our students, we must first listen and learn about your experiences.
I intend to use your voice, not your name, to educate our teachers and staff about student life at Fisher. If this idea piques your interest, please consider signing up for a 10-15 minute interview.
I will hold interviews this Thursday & and Friday at lunch. You can invite a friend or two if you would like. I will provide some food and treats for you and your friends. - - Thank you!

Hi Everybody,
I've come down with a bad sore throat and will take today off. So sorry to miss our class. I should be back in action next week. Super important that you practice your Quadrilateral Midpoint problem with the video. Stay safe and healthy out there. See you soon!
For today you are responsible for 2 things. Below is a list of those 2 tasks you should complete in class. As I've said before, work independently and be respectful to your guest teacher. If you have any questions just email me or chat with me via GoGuardian
TASK #1
Watch the 9-minute video I've posted of the Quadrilateral Proof we started on Wednesday. Make sure to copy it in your math notebooks.
TASK #2
Your MathXL Final test will open up at exactly 1:50 pm. I printed the formulas for you, they're in the red basket in the back. You have until 2:50 pm. No staying over. I ended up removing 5 repeat questions from the test.
TASK #3
If you finish early, please finish your HW. I've posted the solutions to your Worksheet-Review.

Assignment #58 - - Worksheet, Review for Final Test (solutions attached, due Monday)

Hi Everybody,
Sorry, I couldn't be there today. My little girl is super sick and needed me to stay home to take care of her. I'll be there tomorrow. Your new seats for December will have to wait until I get back. Your sub can't help you with that.
For today you are responsible for 6 things. Below is a list of those 6 tasks you should complete today in class. As I've said before, work independently and be respectful to your guest teacher. If you have any questions just email me.
TASK #1
Read the announcements I wrote on the whiteboard.
TASK #2
Offer the sub to help pass back HW assignments. They are all in the green basket in the front of the class. Put back absent work in the green basket.
TASK #3
Watch the "Attic Frame Truss Explained" video. Too many people did not draw their diagrams to scale. In the video, I teach you a technique for drawing to scale.
TASK #4
Update your Table of Contents with the title "Video Notes 6.4/6.5". Then watch the video. Please copy everything onto your math notebooks.
TASK #5
Now update your Table of Contents with the title "Quadrilateral Midpoint Problem". Open the Midpoint Quadrilateral Problem and try it out.

Hello 6th Period,
Hope all is going well for you, I had a personal appointment to take care of today. Please know that you will be working independently today. Your sub has instructions to give you some reminders at the beginning but after that please work on your own. I have headphones in the brown bag in the front for you.
Below is a list of tasks you should complete today in class. As always, work independently, be kind and respectful to your guest teacher, and if you have any questions just email me. I might jump in and chat with you via GoGuardian, just to check in.
TASK #1
Turn in your POW-Areas into the Inbox. Staple a rubric to the front. If you don't have a rubric, ask your sub. I left a bunch of extra rubrics on top of my desk.
TASK #2
Head over to Google Classroom and watch the video explanation for the triangle problem for Notes 4.7. We started this the other day. In class, we deconstructed and pulled apart the triangles but never put together the proof. Please put together the two-column proof. Watch the video if you need help with it. Beware that this is an older video, so it references updating your Table of Contents (we already did that).
TASK #3
Next, practice your Chapter 4 proofs. I made a video for proof #9, 11, and 16. I suggest you try them on your own first then watch the video, but it's up to you. As long as you practice them. We have several pages reserved in our math notebook to place these proofs. Problem #16 can be solved in a short or long way. I chose the shorter method for the video. If you were thinking of using the "Segment Addition Postulate'...you're a genius! But that's the longer way. We'll practice "Segment Addition Post." on Tuesday together.
TASK #4
Once you finish TASKS #1-3, get started on your homework assignments. The first one should be the "Triangular Swan" worksheet. That is due on Tuesday and it's worth 20 points. Either read the instructions on the worksheet or watch the video explanation.
ASSIGNMENTS TO DO
Assignment #39 (Worksheet: Triangular Swan)
Assignment #40 (MathXL: Study Plan for CH4 Quiz)
Thank you! And see you next week.

Due:

Due:
Sorry I couldn't be there today unfortunately, my wife got sick with COVID and I had to scramble to take care of her, the kids, and some other family-related things. Fortunately, moving forward we have family helping out so I should be there next week; that is unless I get sick with COVID too.
Below is a list of tasks you should complete today in class. Please work independently, be kind and respectful to your guest teacher, and if you have any questions just email me. I might jump in and chat with you via GoGuardian, just to check in.
TASK #1
Head over to Google Classroom and complete today's warm-up. Today's warm-up is a survey about math learning. So it's not about solving math problems, but it is about math. This survey is anonymous, so I will not be able to see who wrote what. Please be honest and raw. Be critical but be fair. This survey is for research I am conducting for grad school.
TASK #2
You need your math notebook, a ruler, a highlighter, and headphones. Notice that I have some of these supplies on the table in front of the class. Feel free to borrow whatever you need. Click on the link below and watch the Video Notes 3.1. Copy everything down in your math notebook. And don't forget to update your Table of Contents.
TASK #3
You need your worksheet from Wednesday, math notebooks, and headphones. Start on your Worksheet: CH2 Practice Proofs. I gave you a copy on Wednesday. Either complete these proofs on the worksheet or in your notebooks. I've attached a video to explain a couple of problems to help you get started.
TASK #4
If you finish TASKS #1-3, feel free to get started on your homework assignments.
ASSIGNMENTS TO DO
Assignment #19: Warm Up Survey
Assignment #20: MathXL 3.1
Watch Video Notes 3.1
Watch Video Solutions: CH2 Prac Proofs #4,5
Thank you! And see you next week.

Hi everybody, sorry I couldn't be there today. Unfortunately one of my kids fell ill and I didn't have anybody to watch them at home. Today you'll be doing two things. You'll be working on your MathXL assignments and you'll be practicing some drawings.
TASK #1
Start by watching the Video Notes 1.6. You'll need headphones, your compass, a ruler, and your math notebook. Do not forget to update your Table of Contents. Note that I have placed all of these supplies on the table in the front should you need to borrow any of them. This lesson also comes with a website link to MATHOPENREF.COM. You'll use this site to watch an animated version of drawings and constructions. Fit 1 or 2 drawings per page. You want to give yourself plenty of space. Below is a list of the 4 drawings you will practice today:
1. Congruent Segments
2. Congruent Angles
3. Perpendicular Bisector
4. Angle Bisector
TASK #2
Go to MathXL and complete your MathXL 1.7/1.8
Task #3

EXTRA CREDIT CRITERIA
1. Show ALL your work on a separate sheet of paper. Number all your problems. Due next Friday.
2. Write the solution as an ordered pair, "Infinitely Many" or "No Solution."
