Hi Everybody,

I've got quite a few personal things to do today. More doctor appointments and I have two kids at home with Covid in isolation. One of them is too young to leave at home on their own. I should be in tomorrow. 

For today you are responsible for 4 things.  Below is a list of those 4 tasks you should complete today in class.  As I've said before, work independently and be respectful to your guest teacher.  If you have any questions just email me.

Start with the "Video Review Ra Denom". This is a quick review on how to rationalize the denominator.  I included a review of the unit circle for those kids who still needed a refresher.

Head over to Google Classroom and watch the video explanation for the triangle problem for Notes 4.7.  We started this the other day.  In class, we deconstructed and pulled apart the triangles but never put together the proof.  Please put together the two-column proof.  Watch the video if you need help with it.  Beware that this is an older video, so it references updating your Table of Contents (we already did that).

Next, practice your Chapter 4 proofs.  I made a video for proof #9, 11, and 16.  I suggest you try them on your own first then watch the video, but it's up to you.  As long as you practice them.  We have several pages reserved in our math notebook to place these proofs.  Problem #16 can be solved in a short or long way.  I chose the shorter method for the video.  If you were thinking of using the "Segment Addition Postulate'...you're a genius!  But that's the longer way.  We'll practice "Segment Addition Post." on Tuesday together.

Hello 6th Period,

Hope all is going well for you, I had a personal appointment to take care of today.  Please know that you will be working independently today.  Your sub has instructions to give you some reminders at the beginning but after that please work on your own.  I have headphones in the brown bag in the front for you.

Below is a list of tasks you should complete today in class.  As always, work independently, be kind and respectful to your guest teacher, and if you have any questions just email me.  I might jump in and chat with you via GoGuardian, just to check in.  


TASK #1
Turn in your POW-Areas into the Inbox.  Staple a rubric to the front.  If you don't have a rubric, ask your sub.  I left a bunch of extra rubrics on top of my desk. 

TASK #2
Head over to Google Classroom and watch the video explanation for the triangle problem for Notes 4.7.  We started this the other day.  In class, we deconstructed and pulled apart the triangles but never put together the proof.  Please put together the two-column proof.  Watch the video if you need help with it.  Beware that this is an older video, so it references updating your Table of Contents (we already did that).

TASK #3
Next, practice your Chapter 4 proofs.  I made a video for proof #9, 11, and 16.  I suggest you try them on your own first then watch the video, but it's up to you.  As long as you practice them.  We have several pages reserved in our math notebook to place these proofs.  Problem #16 can be solved in a short or long way.  I chose the shorter method for the video.  If you were thinking of using the "Segment Addition Postulate'...you're a genius!  But that's the longer way.  We'll practice "Segment Addition Post." on Tuesday together.

TASK #4
Once you finish TASKS #1-3,  get started on your homework assignments.  The first one should be the "Triangular Swan" worksheet.  That is due on Tuesday and it's worth 20 points.   Either read the instructions on the worksheet or watch the video explanation.

Hi everybody, sorry I couldn't be there today.  Unfortunately one of my kids fell ill and I didn't have anybody to watch them at home.  Today you'll be doing two things.  You'll be working on your MathXL assignments and you'll be practicing some drawings.

Start by watching the Video Notes 1.6.  You'll need headphones, your compass, a ruler, and your math notebook.  Do not forget to update your Table of Contents. Note that I have placed all of these supplies on the table in the front should you need to borrow any of them.   This lesson also comes with a website link to MATHOPENREF.COM. You'll use this site to watch an animated version of drawings and constructions.  Fit 1 or 2 drawings per page.  You want to give yourself plenty of space.  Below is a list of the 4 drawings you will practice today:

3. Perpendicular Bisector
4. Angle Bisector
