Elmo, our Chilean Rose Hair Tarantula, molted last night! As an organism with an exoskeleton, Elmo needed to break loose from her old exoskeleton to allow room for growth. This is something us endoskeletoned humans don't have to worry about. Her old exoskeleton appears dull and brown when compared to her fresh red hairs and shiny new exoskeleton! She is on the left and her molt is on the right. You can even see her silken molting mat under her!
