Choir Program Overview

Choir

The Fisher Middle School Choral Music program is excited to offer our students many exciting ways to explore and expand your musical abilities.

 

Treble  Choir is designed to help treble (high-voiced) students develop their voice and their love of singing. No audition is needed. This choir will focus primarily on Unison and 2 part singing but may advance to  SSA music as they progress through the year. Treble Choir will perform everything from Bach and Beethoven to Pentatonix and Broadway.

 

Cambiata Choir  is designed to help cambiata (changing voices affected by or soon affected by testosterone) students develop their voice and their love of singing. No audition is needed. This choir will focus primarily on Unison and 2 part singing but may advance to 3 pt mixed or TTB  music as they progress through the year. Cambiata Choir will perform everything from Bach and Beethoven to Pentatonix and Broadway.

 

 

Bel Canto will continue to develop the voice as a musical instrument and will focus on proper vocal technique as well as music theory and fundamentals. This class is an auditioned course and is recommended for students with 2 years of experience in a music class. Bel Canto will focus on SSA and SSAA arrangements and will sing in multiple languages. This group will also explore a wide variety of music from multiple genres throughout music history.

 

Encore is or select ensemble that meets during flex period. Auditions are required for this ensemble. Encore is the face of the choral music program and will be featured in many performances outside of the normal school day. This group will focus on music written for SATB ensembles.
