#1) Copy the binder paper notes into your journal (1st page of video lesson).  I'll check these on Monday.
#2) Listen to the audio to review the notes you just copied (pro-tip!: listen at 1.5 or 2x speed.  I sound like a chipmunk, but you'll still get the ideas.  If it moves too fast, you can listen at any speed).
#3) There are 3 book pages in the video lesson that follow the notes.  You do NOT need to write these questions down. Try the problems mentally (calculator is ok) and then listen along for answers to check your understanding. 
#4) SKIP the last page ("module 10 quiz")
#5) Start the assigned IXLs for practice

Dear Students,

Well, its been a doozy, but I am determined to be well enough to return to work on Monday. :)

First of all, congratulations on finishing your Math SBAC!  I'm sure that you were able to show up and show off your skills.  I'm proud of you.

Secondly, I will assign a video lesson in your google classroom to start off Unit 5 with module 10 as your classwork this Thursday and Friday.  There are IXLs assigned as classwork practice following the lesson.  

We will come back together on Monday, May 1st to review and revise all module 9 exit tickets and prepare for the module 9 quiz next Thursday/Friday.

Dear students,

I'm sorry to report that I have tested positive for Covid, so I will miss you this week.  I have posted a video lesson to your google classroom for today/Friday to watch in class with your headphones.  

If you have any missing work or exit tickets to revise, we will take care of all of that when I return.  There's no homework assigned now through testing next week, but you have class practice handouts to keep you practicing if you like.

The video lesson mentions some IXLs (but this is an old lesson from zoom school, so don't worry about those.  NO NEW IXLs are assigned).

DESCRIPTION
Fisher's MathCounts team is a competitive math team that competes against other middle schools in Santa Clara county and beyond.  The team this year will be made up of the best 12 math students.  You can be in 6th, 7th, or 8th grade.  In order to make the team, you must try out.  For more information on how the math team competes, check out the attached doc labeled MathCounts Flyer.

TRYOUTS
Fill out the attached Google Form by midnight of this Sunday (12/11/22).  This is a strict deadline.  If you miss it, you won't be able to try out for the team.  Tryouts will be after school on Wednesday (12/14/22) and Thursday (12/15/22) in room Y5.  If we have more than 60 students tryout, I will hold a third and final session on Monday (12/19/22) after school in room Y5.  I will contact all students on Monday (12/12/22) via email of their tryouts schedule.   I will also post a poster outside room Y5 with names of students and scheduled tryouts.
