The purpose of this short story is to think about your OWN writing while reading through this story. Look at the dialogue and the detail. Think about the language and the sentence structure. Think about how many events are included in this short story. Notice that this story is not the author's entire life, but one event or snapshot that she describes. Furthermore, she leaves out all unnecessary details for this story.
