1. Verify that your hook/attention getter is effective (see slides attached)
2. Highlight your claim in yellow. Is it one sentence? Does it clearly communicate the purpose of your speech?
3. Highlight your preview in green. Does it give the listener a sense of what's to come?
4. Highlight transitions in pink. Do you use a transition to introduce your first body point, transition from point to point, and transition from your body to your conclusion?
5. Highlight your required quotation in blue. Is it placed effectively? Does it enhance the message of your speech?

7. Read your speech aloud to another person (parents, friend, classmate, neighbor, sibling, etc.), and ask for feedback. Was the purpose of the speech clear? Do I need to add anything? Remove anything? Was it boring? What can I do to make it more engaging?

FINAL PROJECT DUE MAY 1-2
If you need supplies or support from your parents, ask early! Don't wait until the night before.
Your project can be made out of anything you want as long as:
1. It's school appropriate (i.e. no dangerous objects)
2. You can carry it by yourself
3. It can fit through the classroom door
In the past, I've seen projects made out of Amazon boxes, pizza boxes, clothes hangers, posterboards, t-shirts, Legos, clay, sand, baskets, feathers, 3-D printed objects, household objects ... there's no limit to your creativity.
Remember, these projects will be displayed for Open House, and you want to feel proud of what you create. Put some time and energy into making a creative, well-put-together final product.
