Due:
If you'd like to watch a video regarding what we did in class today(completing the square), please watch the below video. ONLY watch the 1st two problems, as the third one is covered more in Algebra 2(although I think you'd understand it)
Due:
*Update: This is extra credit. Your worksheet on solving quadratics by factoring is a homework grade. Both 9.3 and 9.4 are an extra 3 points total for extra credit.
Attached is the homework that was due today.
*Note: The quiz is now moved to Wednesday!

*For those absent, watching from the beginning to 7:30 covers a problem or two of what we discussed in class.
Due:
*If you were absent, please make sure you watch this so you know how to find the axis of symmetry and the vertex of a quadratic equation.
Due:
Practice finding the vertex using x = -b/2a and plugging into the original equation to find y and you now have your vertex!
If you don't love T-tables to plot points on your parabola, make sure you understand the pattern of 1a, 3a, 5a so you can graph without making a table. The video is linked to explain if you missed class or need a refresher.

I opened up the remaining XL assignments if you'd to practice additional problems. These are not graded and completely optional. We did more paper assignments for homework this unit.
Due:
Please practice before looking at the answers!
Due:
I will be at homework club on Thursday 3/12 from 2:50 - 3:50 so if you need extra help on Chapter 8 or were absent and need some extra time to work with me, please stay after school. Homework club meets outside of Mr Waste's room in the R wing.

I opened the chapter 8 quiz up for you to check for mistakes and understanding so you are ready for your Chapter 8 Test on Monday, March 16th.
Due:
Please make sure you show you work, especially for section 3 where you multiply a binomial by a trinomial.
Due:
-Please work on the iReady diagnostic during flex. If it is not complete by the end of this week, I will write you a flex pass to come in next week to complete it before February break.
Due:
I just opened chapter 7 quiz scores on XL, so please take a look and you can see your answer and the correct answer(if you got a question wrong). Next class, I will hand back your scratch paper so you can see where you made mistakes. Some answers did get half credit depending on the problem. We will review this on Monday. Hope you enjoy the SuperBowl weekend!
Due:
-Please listen to the below lesson on 7.4 division of exponents with Ms Lo and take notes(handed out by guest teacher)
-After finishing, please get your homework assignment worksheet and complete by tomorrow(Thursday)

Please make sure you bring a charged chromebook for the iReady diagnostic. You will have Wednesday, most of Thursday(we are starting Chapter 7 most likely), flex, and a quiet classroom next week for probably the last 30 minutes of block.
Due:
Please complete these problems and practice the "fill" button. We will go over this in class.
Due:
Practice! It feels like you just took your quiz, but the rest of the chapter just had us graphing inequalities! Concepts should be fresh in your minds!
Due:
Practice your study guide so you're ready for Tuesday's quiz! It is not mandatory or graded, but meant to help you feel prepared.
Due:
Sorry to miss you! Today you will be listening to notes given by Ms Lo on 6.3 Elimination. I use elimination more than substitution.
1. Please hand in your homework(president and vegetables in blender)
2. Please get headphones and fill out the notes your sub will give you. Follow along and finish your notes.
3. Classwork - Solving systems of equations using your choice of method! graphing, substituting, or eliminating
- If you correctly answer your questions, you will find out where the "bank robber" will be at their last location. SHOW ALL YOUR WORK. Please hand in before you leave. This is not homework.
4 Homework - 13 problems worksheet listed below. SHOW ALL YOUR WORK, either on the front of back of the worksheet.

Due:
SHOW YOUR WORK!!! Either on the back of your worksheet or on a separate sheet of paper, but I need to see your work. If you just answer the puzzle and show no work, you will receive a zero. Work is important!
Please also do the three word problems in XL 6.2. It should be #5, 6, and 7. You do not have to complete #1-4 unless you'd like the extra practice.
Also, great work today. Substitution is one of the hardest concepts in this chapter. Also, your graphs today(to earn back points) were SO MUCH BETTER!

Due:
-Please check power school if you have any missing XL assignments.
-I opened up one more XL - parallel and perpendicular lines, but this is OPTIONAL if you need more practice
-I opened up one more XL - parallel and perpendicular lines, but this is OPTIONAL if you need more practice
Due:
We finished Chapter 5 and will be reviewing all next week! Chapter 6 continues our work with linear equations, so let's make sure we are understanding of finding slopes, graphing, finding intercepts, and understanding the 3 ways we can write a linear equation. Can you write the equation of a line given two points? How are the slopes of parallel lines related? Perpendicular lines? Can you graph the absolute value equation y=|x|, the parent graph, and translate it?
Due:
Your last two sections of chapter 5! Scatterplots and graphing and translating absolute value equations. Thank you for the fun time yesterday drawing(and making some noise:) with our scatterplot graphs.
Due:
Please make sure you show your work for the last 10 problems! How did you find the y-intercept? Parallel lines have the same slope, perpendicular lines have opposite reciprocal slopes! Use this knowledge!
Due:
We have the quiz on the Monday you get back from break. We will review the first half of class and you will take the quiz the second half.
Due:
You can either do the worksheet handed out in class today for homework or you are doing XL 5.4
Due:
Please finish your packet from Friday's sub plans. They are due Monday if you didn't complete in class.
Due:
Please complete the study plan for Chapter 4. Your test is on Thursday!
Due:
You will be given a tile pattern to be discussed with your group members and create a poster from your findings. This is a project done entirely in class. Next week we will do a gallery walk and you will grade everyone's poster. This is a fun project!
Due:
Please pace yourself, but these are short lessons this chapter. All are due Sunday by 11PM.
Due:
Using a calculator, have fun with your shopping! Your goal is to get as close to $1,000 as you can.
Due:
Study for your chapter 3 test! You should have completed the study plan, and I hope you got some good review from our trashketball game.
Due:
I can't believe we are almost done with Chapter 3. Your Chapter 3 test is on Thursday, October 16th. The study plan(guide) is already open and due before you take the test. Remember, your study plan gets you to practice similar questions that will be on the test. The study plan is due before Thursday at 1:20PM.
Due:
You will have your 16 questions quiz on solving inequalities. The quiz covers sections 3.1-3.4.
Due:
No homework as we just took our Chapter 2 Test. If you have a 0 for any assignment, please get it done by Wednesday and EMAIL ME if it is on MathXL or hand in any paper copies to me directly.
Due:
The study plan is now open. We finish 2.10 Finding relative error/percent error on Wednesday. You will have the remainder of the class to work on the study plan. On Friday, we start Chapter 3 with notes, review a bit, and then you will have the remainder of class to finish the study plan. Your Chapter 2 test is on Monday. Remember, if you do better on this test than the Chapter 2 quiz, I replace your quiz score with your higher test score.
Due:
Please complete both XL 2.9 and 2.10 on percents due Thursday, Sept 25.
Due:
Using your calculators and data given in class, you are to find the % increase in prices of McDonald's menu items from the 1950s and 1970s to today. Remember, from 1950, we are expecting a roughtly 1300% increase and 1972 a roughly 650% increase to be in line with inflation. Are McDonald's prices "on par" with inflation? Which menu item has really gone up in price?
Due:
Please pick 7 from the front and 7 from the back of the worksheet. These problems are also great because they give you practice for your quiz tomorrow!
The answer key is attached. Please note the answer key has the answer written as a set {}. We typically will just solve saying n=___.
(fill in the blank)

Hi all, your XL Orientation was due yesterday. If you forgot, I reopened the assignment. You will get full credit if you do it. YOU MUST EMAIL ME when you complete it as XL does not notify me when you turn in a missing or late XL assignment. Please remember this throughout the year as you MUST email me when completing a late assignment. Looking forward to hearing your jigsaw presentations Thursday and Friday!
Due:
Please take some time getting to use MathXL, how you answer questions, etc.
Due:
Hi all, we will be picking up our Algebra textbooks on Monday August 25th during class. Please plan accordingly and have space in your backpack as well as BRING YOUR STUDENT ID. This will make things easier for Ms Bateman.
Due:
Hi all, please make sure you have a charged chromebook tomorrow as we will be signing into MathXL and you will be assigned your first project which will be done in google slides. See you all tomorrow!
