Final draft of superhero short story is due. Bring a clean final draft (double spaced in 12 point Arial or Times New Roman font) with the last draft that I marked up and scoresheet. You should also have the Error log (pink) and Read your work 5 times (blue) handout that is due today. 

 

Bring any Fisher Library books that you need to return. 

Create a diorama following all 8 steps on the assignment sheet. Please turn in the rubric on the back of the assignment sheet (attached) and all notes and sketches made while developing the ideas for your diorama.  

If you need help writing the paragraph for the diorama, use the attached paragraph frame to help you.

 

Finish post discussion for lit circle on chapters 14-18 done in class. Use the blue sheet that we completed in lit circles to write your post discussion on the white sheet I passed out in class. 

Using the superhero origin story comments that I marked on your first draft, study your comma errors and the other errors marked on your story and complete the pink Error log. If any of these words are at the beginning of a sentence in your story, check to make sure that you have a comma in that sentence.

Finish TBEAR on "Becky and the Wheels-and-Brake Boys" by James Berry that we started in Google drive. Check your paragraph over for dead words and  proof read for capitalization and comma errors. Complete the "Read your work five times" handout given in class (also attached below).

You don't need to print this, I will show you how to share your finished essay next week. Complete the biography speech handout started in class. Write out your speech on flash cards so that you can practice in class (especially if your speech is early next week). We will have class time to finish up flash cards (if your speech is late next week or following week). 

Finish the personal metaphor poster started in class (see handout attached).

 

Try to finish your biography/autobiography book.

Bring your biography genre book and your genre packet with the two pages on biography/autobiography finished up.

Finish the RE vocabulary words flip chart we started in class. Use the blue handout with the vocabulary words and the purple blank paper we created in class. Fold it so you have 5 flaps on each side. Write the word and part of speech on the front. Inside write the definition and use it in a sentence (see photo attached).

In your journal write what you think the poems "The Rose That Grew from Concrete" means and how it show the poets feelings about personal power. Use the annotations that we did in class and the goldenrod Annotating Poetry handout that I gave you. 

Read pages 2-15 of your planner with your parents AND sign 1st page of your planner and turn it in next block.

Start reading your genre book. Have a terrific 3-day weekend!

Using the Fisher No Excuse words handout on page 17 of your KEY packet, write the definition of each word. You can look them up in the dictionary (put it in your own words) or use the slideshows (click on the words on the slide that you want defined) to change slide. 

Bring completed "I Collage" to class finished or in parts (we will finish it in class if you are not done) with attached assignment sheet and rubric. Be sure to follow the instructions for the poem. If you cannot type up your poem at home, you can just hand write it neatly. If you just need to print your poem or photo, email it to me and I'll print it for you. In the subject line please state what period you are in. 

Read over our class newsletter/syllabus with your parent/guardian and sign the last page. Bring the completed signature page to class to turn in.

Follow guidelines in the "What's in your bag?" speech handout below to prepare your bag speech. Assemble the items as instructed in the handout and practice before you present. 

Bring a recent photo of yourself to class. You will use this photo in a project so bring one that you can glue onto your project. 

Complete the "Who I Am" questionnaire that is attached below.
