Homework: 7th graders are required to read their independent reading book for 30 minutes each day (1 day off) or 3 hours each week outside of class. When will you get your reading done this week? Find a quiet, comfy place to relax and read today to start working toward your 20-book/5,000-page reading challenge!

Mrs. Brucato will tell you more about the reading challenge on Wednesday.

Your first writing assignment will be a paragraph about your name.  Why were you given this name? What does it mean? Do you like it or not? What does your name mean to you? Use the brainstorming handout if you're feeling stuck.

Homework: Finish the rough draft of your paragraph. We will edit/revise together in class next week. 

Rough Draft: Wednesday, 8/20
Final Draft with a PHOTO of yourself: Monday, 8/25

Mrs. Brucato will print your paragraph, and you will decorate them in class.

You will earn 10 process points for preparedness when you bring your daily independent reading book to class on Thursday, 8/21.

*You can bring a book from home, check one out from the public or school library, use a Kindle, or find an online book using Libby, Alexandria, or Sora. Our classroom library will be open next week.

If you didn't finish in class, bring your completed Camp Trojan flag to English tomorrow.
