Here is the optional study guide for your quiz on Thursday.

*Please make sure you also practiced multiplying decimals in iXL I.3 (That should say "eye".3). No need to practice more than 5 problems or get higher than a 50% smart score.  Your quiz will have decimals!

You must complete one for a grade today(worth 10 points - process).  If you complete both with a score of 8 or more on both, you get +2 points extra credit.  

If you complete both but do not do well on one, I will take the highest score of the two forms.

Optional, but make sure there are 4 main topics to understand:

1.  Write a ratio, and make sure it is in its simplest form.  
2.  Are two ratios equivalent?  
3.  Can you fill in a ratio table using patterns or equivalent fractions/ratios?
4.  ***Find the unit rate****. 

Choose 6 grocery items(technically a total of 7 as we did eggs today in class and this should be in your first block on the answer sheet).  Find the unit rate for each and find which is the better buy.  YOU WILL SHOW DIVISION FOR A TOTAL OF 18 PROBLEMS.  There are 6 items, and each has 3 unit rates to find.  You will need to round to the nearest hundredths for money.  

Complete the questions practicing unit rate, rounding decimals(for money!), and understanding equivalent ratios.

Remember, if you don't want to make this a puzzle and cut it out and glue it on the second page, just make sure you show your work on the first page!  Did you use patterns or equivalent ratios?  Let me see your thought process.

For the remainder of the year, please complete one lesson per week.  Instead of looking for time, I will now be looking at a completed lesson.

This isn't optional....you must read it, practice it, and make sure you understand it for your quiz on Monday!  Answers are provided so you can check that you are getting the problems correct.

3.  Get a flex pass and take the requiz either Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday of this week during flex.

Yeah!  You've learned multiplying and dividing fractions and did great!  I want you to practice cross cancellation so we don't have to simplify our answers in the end(or at least not work with such large numbers).  This is a great skill to have!

Please complete 45 minutes of iReady for the WEEK.  Due Sunday before 9:00PM

Please complete for homework!  This will help you remember adding/subtracting fractions and mixed numbers.

*remember there is a typo: The one problem with answer E should have a denominator of 39, not 36!  

As discussed in class, this is totally optional(there are 71 questions!), but it can help you if there is a topic you may need to practice.  The answer key is provided to check your work.  You will not have any fractions or decimals on the quiz unless asked about opposites or absolute values.  

This will be the last time I print you a copy, but will always put a study guide on google classroom before a quiz.  If you want one printed, you just have to ask.

Be ready for your quiz!  We will review before you take your quiz, but you should come to class with any questions.  You have your study guide as well as your packet today you worked on with your partners.  Those are great items to use to study and practice!  

This is a double assignment, worth 10 points.  R.7 finds distance, and R.9 has you plot 4 points and find the area or perimeter(you need to find the distance between points in order to calculate).  Remember, you may stop when you have a smart score of 80%, as this gives you full credit.

Please login to iXL and under myiXL there is an assignment for a quiz.  This is just a practice quiz, but it should cover every topic we have learned.  This will tell us if there is an area we need to go back and review.  Please finish by Friday at 3pm.  

We will be going over our timeline project Thursday in class and begin working on them.  I will show examples from previous years to help plan your project.  You will be given most of class on Friday to complete and they will be due next Friday.

Hi all, I will be handing out your textbooks on Thursday, so please make sure you have your backpacks!  Your textbook stays at home and is yours to keep.  

Hi everyone, we will be doing our "about me" paper to hang up in the classroom.  Please bring in a 3x3 or smaller picture of yourself.  It can be a picture, you can print out "clip art" of something you love, etc, or just draw a self portrait.  We will be doing this during Wednesday's Early Out Day.
