If you would like a retake(earned less than a 90%), you must email me, I will give you a flex pass, you bring your quiz so we can review, and then I will have you retake your quiz during flex time.

While optional, this study guide gives you practice problems to be ready for your quiz!  The answers are listed so you can check your work.  Remember, I won't be giving you fractions or decimals on the quiz....yet!

Please complete finding distance between two points in iXL R.7.  Full credit for a smart score of 80 or more.  If you take longer than 30 minutes, please stop and see me for a flex pass to go over the topic.

Please try the last 4 problems.  These should be a bit challenging!

This week you will be given time to work on the timeline project.  We are going over the directions in stages. 
1.  Think of 10 things you'd like us to know about you, things you like, etc. and make it an event that happened in a certain year
2.  Find the year these things happened.  My example: Dolly Parton is my favorite singer, so my event is when she was born.  
3.  Remember, "0" on your timeline is your birth year.  You will have 5 post birth events(happened after you were born) and 5 pre birth events(happened before you were born)
4.  We will work on the math in class to create your number line.  
*Posterboard will be handed out Monday and Tuesday 8/24 and 8/25.

*We will start working on these for part of each class starting Monday, August 24th.  You can draw, print pictures, or bring in pictures of your events for your timelines.  Look at the samples in class to get an idea of the project!

*Remember, connect the dots as you go!  Otherwise, your picture might not work out.  Also, pace yourself.  This is a longer homework assignment so it is due on Friday, September 4th.  It helps if you cross off the coordinate pairs you graph, as you go.  

1.  Complete Quadrants google doc first.
2.  Complete Points on the Coordinate Plane (The last two are challenge - we may do them together)
3.  If you earned an 8/10 or higher on both, you may then work on your homework(the graphing picture or finish your timeline)
4.  If you scored lower than an 8/10 on either, please bring your chromebook up so we can make sure you understand your mistakes.  

Please complete your hexagon "about me" by Monday, August 24th so I can put them up around the room.  You may have time to complete in class this week, but if not please turn them in on Monday.

Please have your parent/guardian sign your syllabus.

Next week we will be doing our "about me" hexagons with your picture in the middle.  You may choose to draw your picture, but many will bring in a small picture(approx 2 inch by 2 inch) to put in the middle of their hexagon.  I will show you in class on Friday the hexagons so you know what size they will be.
