Algebra 1CC - Spyker - 3(A)-3(A) Assignments

Please complete the below two worksheets on percent increase and percent word problems.  This is due on Thursday.

Please complete as this is great practice for your quiz TOMORROW, Thursday, Sept 17.  Show all work!

Attached is the answer key if there are questions. *Thank you, Period 5, for noting my error on problem c under one step equations.  The answer is negative 4, not 4.  See what happens when you don't check your work:)

Please complete to at least 80% for full credit.  No additional paper to hand in is required for this assignment.  Use your calculators!

*YOU MUST HAND IN YOUR WORK on a separate sheet of paper, so I can see you understand how to rewrite equations(literal equations).  You still only need to work up to an 80% for full credit.  

Please choose any 10 of the 18 problems.  If you do the entire sheet, the answer to the riddle is "They always round things up".

Please make sure to show your work like we did today in class.  This is due Thursday.  If you draw the picture, it is worth an additional +2 points (process).  Remember, the drawing page has two exact answer keys...an extra if you mess up the drawing.  

Please do the Chapter 1 Study Plan on mathxlforschool.com for your test on Friday, September 4th.  This will give you an idea of the types of problems you will be tested on.

Please do the online MathXL Orientation lesson to get an understanding of the online interface.

We will have our Chapter 1 Test on Friday, Sept 4th.  If you would like a printed copy, please let me know.  Otherwise, you will be taking the test online during class.

Please complete and practice using the XL interface.  Remember to always login to mathxlforschool.com and don't go through clever.  If you get an 80%, you may stop(although you certainly can get to 100%) as this gets you full credit on the homework.  Due Wednesday 9/2 by 11PM.

Attached are the instructions for your 50 point team project that we went over today.  You will have Wednesday and Thursday to hopefully complete.  Be ready to present to the class on Monday, August 31st.  

Does every team member know what slides they are creating?  When the slides are done, practice your presentation and know who is speaking on what slides.  Presentations typically take between 5-7 minutes(which includes giving the class time to solve your two problems).   Questions?  Email me!

Please complete your hexagon "about me" by Monday, August 24th so I can put them up around the room.  You may have time to complete in class this week, but if not please turn them in on Monday.

Next week we will be doing our "about me" hexagons with your picture in the middle.  You may choose to draw your picture, but many will bring in a small picture(approx 2 inch by 2 inch) to put in the middle of their hexagon.  I will show you in class on Friday the hexagons so you know what size they will be.
