Social Studies 7 - Kaefer - 5(A)-5(A) Assignments

Complete the Edpuzzle by following the instructions in Edpuzzle.  Use headphones/earbuds and DO NOT use closed captions.

Complete the Eye/World visual on WS from Kaefer's Counter, by following the instructions below.
1. Use a pencil to neatly draw 5 elements on your worksheet that connect to your WORLDVIEW.  Be purposeful, or have a reason with WHAT you are drawing and WHERE you place it on the worksheet.
2. Add relevant and neat color to the worksheet using colored pencils to enhance it. (title, eye, world, and drawn visuals should all be in FULL color)

DO NOT USE ANY WORDS/LABELS OR WRITTEN DESCRIPTION.

Use the attached Slide deck to complete the attached Google Form by following the instructions on it.  If you do not see your Worldview Space Slide included, it's because you were not finished with your slide.  I will add your Slide to the deck once you are finished, turn it in, and fill out the Late Assignment Form.

Complete the 1-8 Student Mind Lab Worksheet (attached if needed) by following the instructions on it.  The red text on the slides in the attached Bias Reveal Slide deck should be written word for word in column D on the worksheet.

On binder paper, NEATLY write ALL content that is in RED font in the attached Slide deck.  Also, complete ALL the sentence starters in RED font on your binder paper. Skip a line on your binder paper when taking notes from a different slide.  Use the back side of the binder paper if needed and put in 1st clear plastic page of your colored folder.

Complete the attached Google Form by following the instructions and using your 1-8 Worksheet.

1. Use the LINK in the instructions of the attached Google Form to WATCH and LISTEN with headphones/earbuds (NO CLOSED CAPTIONS) to the 10-minute news.
2. Complete the attached Google Form by following the instructions on it.

Read, understand, and follow the attached Instructions & Example Slide deck to complete the Project on the attached My Worldview Space Slide deck.

YOU ARE NOT CREATING YOUR SPACE/ROOM FOR THIS ASSIGNMENT, YOU ARE ONLY TYPING IN WORDS WHAT YOU PLAN TO HAVE IN YOUR SPACE ON SLIDE 1 AND ONCE YOU FIND THE ITEMS AS VISUALS, YOU DROP (COPY/PASTE) ONTO SLIDE 2.  YOU WILL GET A SEPARATE SLIDE DECK TO CREATE/BUILD YOUR ROOM/SPACE. 

Complete the BLUE worksheet "1-6 Identity: My Identity" by following the instructions on it.  A digital copy is attached if you need to print it out.

USING THE FRONT OF A NEW PIECE OF BINDER PAPER, Complete the Journal Write #3 by following the directions on the attached Slide deck. When finished, put your binder paper in the 2nd plastic page in your colored folder.  Your Journal Writes will be graded at the end of each unit.

Complete the BLUE worksheet "1-6 Identity: My Identity" by following the instructions on it.  A digital copy is attached if you need to print it out.

 Use the attached Google Form that you already completed last week and complete the worksheet titled "1-5 Analyzing Student Values Data" by following the instructions at the top of it.  The graphed data are for all students in Mr. Kaefer's social studies class who completed the Google Form. A copy of the worksheet is attached if you need to print it our.

Use the attached Blooket to review for the World Belief Systems Quiz that will be on Wednesday, 9/23.

Use the attached Edpuzzle link to watch, listen, and answer the questions along the way.  Use wired headphones or earbuds to listen to the video, and DO NOT use closed captioning.

Your grade will be based on the accuracy of your answers so make sure you focus and do the best you can.

1. Create a paper flag that represents the religion you researched.  Use the content from "1-3 World Religion/Belief Systems Research & Symbolic Flag Guide" to help you.  Use various materials (construction paper, colored pencils, markers, etc.) to create a neat and well laid out flag.
INCORPORATE AT LEAST 3 DIFFERENT SYMBOLS & 2 DIFFERENT COLORS TO THOROUGHLY REPRESENT THE RELIGION'S BELIEFS.
2. On the back of the flag you created, neatly write a well constructed paragraph explaining everything you included on your flag and how it connects to the religion.  You can write it by hand on a piece of binder paper or type it up and print it on your own.  Then tape it to the back of the flag. 

Complete the "1-3 World Religion/Belief Systems Research & Symbolic Flag Guide" worksheet passed out in class by following the instructions on it. The worksheet can be printed out using the attached doc.

1. Complete the attached Google Form honestly
2. Use your responses from the Google Form to complete the "1-2 Values: Self-Reflection" worksheet.

1. Connect each of the 3 different traits (curiosity, critical thinking, and compassion) to a fictitious character (book, movie, legend) or real character (family member or famous person) or animal (pet or wild). 

2. Layout your paper similar to the attached slide so within each of the 3 sections you include the trait, multiple sentences neatly written using grammatically correct explanation and specific example , and a colored visual (minimum visual size is 2 inches x 2 inches; spending about 15 minutes for each). Use Google images to help you with your drawing.
Each trait needs to be a different character.

2. As you watch and listen to the video, answer the 6 questions as they come up. Your grade will be determined by the accuracy of your answers so pay close attention.

Complete the assignment explained on slide #12 of the attached Slide deck. Use the 1/4 sheet of binder paper passed out in class to complete it. This assignment will be posted on the classroom wall for back-to-school night for your parents to read.

Complete the attached Google Form by following the instructions on it and the link embedded in the instructions at the top. Make sure to use wired earbuds or earphones.  CLOSED CAPTIONING IS NOT A SUBSTITUTE FOR LISTENING TO IT.

Use the attached docs to put together a short and simple skit.  Every student needs a speaking part.  Common roles for the scenarios are teacher, student(s), and narrator.  Following the instructions posted on the attached "Syllabus Scenarios Worksheet" doc and the content from the "Syllabus Scenarios" doc.  The bottom box on the first page and the 2nd page of the worksheet will be completed in class as you watch skits performed by other groups.
