Social Studies 7 - Kaefer - 6(A)-6(A) Assignments

Use the attached Google Form that you already completed last week and complete the worksheet titled "1-5 Analyzing Student Values Data" by following the instructions at the top of it.  The graphed data are for all students in Mr. Kaefer's social studies class who completed the Google Form.  The worksheet is attached if you need to print it out.

Use the attached Edpuzzle link to watch, listen, and answer the questions along the way.  Use wired headphones or earbuds to listen to the video, and DO NOT use closed captioning.

Your grade will be based on the accuracy of your answers so make sure you focus and do the best you can.

Use the attached Blooket to review for the World Belief Systems Quiz that will be on Wednesday, 9/23.

1. Create a paper flag that represents the religion you researched.  Use the content from "1-3 World Religion/Belief Systems Research & Symbolic Flag Guide" to help you.  Use various materials (construction paper, colored pencils, markers, etc.) to create a neat and well laid out flag.
INCORPORATE AT LEAST 3 DIFFERENT SYMBOLS & 2 DIFFERENT COLORS TO THOROUGHLY REPRESENT THE RELIGION'S BELIEFS.
2. On the back of the flag you created, neatly write a well constructed paragraph explaining everything you included on your flag and how it connects to the religion.  You can write it by hand on a piece of binder paper or type it up and print it on your own.  Then tape it to the back of the flag.

2. Use your responses from the Google Form to complete the "1-2 Values: Self-Reflection" worksheet.

1. Connect each of the 3 different traits (curiosity, critical thinking, and compassion) to a fictitious character (book, movie, legend) or real character (family member or famous person) or animal (pet or wild). 

2. Layout your paper similar to the attached slide so within each of the 3 sections you include the trait, multiple sentences neatly written using grammatically correct explanation and specific example , and a colored visual (minimum visual size is 2 inches x 2 inches; spending about 15 minutes for each). Use Google images to help you with your drawing.
Each trait needs to be a different character.

USING THE BACK OF THE BINDER PAPER FROM JOURNAL #1, Complete the Journal Write #2 by following the directions on the attached Slide deck. When finished, put your binder paper in the 2nd plastic page in your colored folder.  Your Journal Writes will be graded at the end of each unit.
