- Must be a total of MORE than 65 squares.
- Scale = 100m (like Park B)
- Between 5 and 8 regions.  (Park A and B both had 5 regions.)

2) In your notebook or one the back of one of the sheets used today in the exercise, create a table like the ones filled out today.

GoMath! page 283, problems #10-25, NOT #14.
SHOW ALL WORK IN NOTEBOOK!

Use pages 281-2 as reference, if needed.  You do not need to do any problems from these pages.

#10-13, rewrite the expression as an equivalent expression using a property.

You can use any of the properties (the ones where you made note cards) to create an equivalent expression.

Example:

Commutative property of addition states that 4 + 6 = 6 + 4.

So if you are given 10 + x, how can you write an equivalent expression that has the same value but doesn't look exactly the same?

10 + x = x + 10 by the commutative property of addition.

So if the problem says 10 + x ___________, then you write "x + 10" and state the "commutative property of addition."

Take your notecards out and see if you can use them to recognize the pattern in the problem and create an equivalent expression for each.

1) Complete the number pattern and growing pattern worksheets started in class after the Unit 2 Performance Assessment (copies attached are *similar* to the ones handed out in class - I do not have soft copies of the ones handed out, so if you lost yours, you can do the ones here.  If you can't print at home, just write the whole pattern and rule in your notebook.)

2)Create your OWN patterns.
Using the worksheet (or printer paper), write out two numerical patterns and one growing (picture) pattern.  On the back of the paper write the rule for the numerical patterns.  Make sure to include as many numbers that are needed in order to decode a few cycles of the pattern.  Write LARGE - numbers should be about 1 inch high so that, if posted, the work can be read from a few feet away.

Example:
1) 3, 4, 6, 7, 9, 10, ___, ____
(on back: add 1, then add 2)
-in this example there are 2 1/2 cycles of the pattern, so someone can see that the pattern repeats

2) growing pattern:
 *,    -*,   -*-,    --*-,    --*--, _______, _______
