all right welcome everybody to your vegan notes for Section 11.1 day two of two because this is the second day working on this section parallel lines and transversals please do not forget to update your table of contents with this title we are you looking at vocabulary with some diagrams attached to each one and I will also explain your next activity in this video so well at least a pair looks like this just try. straight line and give it a ray here and as you can see we've created two angles so it's labeled angles 1 and 2 what is this mean what exactly is a bullet list here set 1 and angle 2 are using this symbol are for the word rare so that I can go to the notes look faster linear pair that's how you would denote it what exactly does that mean it means that angles 1 + and goes to are going to equal 180 degrees talk about Lassiter notes a straight line is how the measurement of 180° in your pair vs. adjacent angles what does that mean take a look at two scenarios so horizontal line here and split it again with two angles and draw horizontal line here again and this time split with couple of Race 3 angles here so let's label it 1 2 and 3 what exactly is the difference let's take a look here in the left hand side make a little bullet list this is an angle 1 and angle 2 are adjacent or angles that are right right next to each other cheer we're also saying that angle 1 and are also at Jason's cuz they're right next to each other they share a line they share a side but what is the difference here is the difference in this case we have that angle 1 angle 2 are going to equal 180 degrees because of both of them make up a straight line in this case the difference is that angle 1 + angle to do not equal a hundred and 80° the reason is because angles 1 and 2 do not make up a straight line YouTube you would have to add this third angle but that's the difference between calling a pair of angles are linear pair vs. Jason English to be aware of that go to the next vocabulary word complementary angles what exactly is that they are angles that add up to 90° angles that add up to 90 degrees all right angle like that never go go ahead and split this right angle with a rake you split that angle there we have two angles that are making up to 90° so you would say that angle 1 + angle 2 equal 90 degrees that's what that means that were complimentary starts with the letter c right the red letter C there it is super complementary if you just add a line this way and add a zero or there it is 90° jimikki but whatever maybe it'll help you with I then we have this other words that are similar supplementary angles are these are angles that ghost add up to 180 degrees that they add up to a hundred and eighty degrees example of a horizontal line and split that into two angles okay what is this mean what means a couple of things it means that angle 1 + angle 2 equal 180 degrees notice of this is a linear pair they are adjacent and they are supplementary so there's less you can see three different ways of describing these type of angles linear pair that would be true they are Jason and they are supplementary that would be out of 283 second scenario for supplementary angles and split it into three angles 1 2 and 3 all right angles 2 + angles 3 all together at at 280 degrees so far mentary so that's how you would use Facebook cabulary English 1 2 and 3 are gimme you can close it up turn it into an eight and a one and a zero oh there it is 180 degrees just a little fun way of room bring supplementary angles adding up to 180 degrees all right Triangle Sum the vocabulary to this problem okay all right so that there are a couple of angles that are labeled Forest I'm going to highlight them for us we have 95 degrees here we have 17 degrees here and we have a 121 degrees over there notice that we have parallel lines everywhere like these horizontal lines are all parallel you can see that with the symbol that I taught you in class when you have these diagonals that are also parallel to each other you can see that with the symbol here in the symbol here at the corners are 90 degrees you can see that I'm going to go ahead and show you how to calculate a couple of these angles and then you can do the rest I calculator might be handy cuz we got to add and subtract quite a few numbers so here we go let's start over here with angle 27 + is adjacent angle here they are a linear pair is this is 121 degrees angle 27 must be 59° 121 + 59 add up to 180 degrees to my worksheet I'm going to go to 27 in the 27 is 59° but what is a pair 2 121 degrees oh okay notice what I'm doing I am referencing I'm going to highlight this is the key referencing the previous step I had to use 121 degrees to figure out that angle 27 was 59° more angles picture Okay believe this is 59° oh look at this 30 and 27 are those consecutive interior angles that's right is there consecutive interior angles add up to 27 is already 59° 30 speed 121 degrees OK Google 30 worksheet there's angle 30 right there and go 30 is going to be a hundred and twenty one how did I know because it was a concert YouTube interior and you can abbreviate consecutive interior to what angle what angle do we use we use angle 27 I notice that I am referencing the previous step how do I figure out the angle 3121 degrees I had to look at angle 27 beforehand okay alright go back up here and find some more angles are a linear pair 59 degrees it's lit means when I go back to my sit here and 31 is going to be 59° how do I know that angle 31 is 59° because angle 31 is a linear care to what angle to angle 30k and notice again that I am right Tim Robbins the previous angle reference the previous angle everybody's vocabulary is going to look different because everybody's going to calculate these angle measurements in a different. right nobody not everybody will think the same way right so you might use different relationships or you might see different ways of getting the same angle measurement so not everybody will have the same vocabulary everybody should have the same angle measurements. 32 angles half a point for that for getting the correct angle and I'm going to give you a half a point for getting the rightful cabulary right so that's a total of 32 points and yes you can work with each other and so this is a easy way of getting 32 points let's go ahead and give you another freely all right let's take a look you said when was right here are and a consecutive interior angle over here we know to be 90° that means that single 32 must be also 90° because two consecutive interior angles have to add up to 180 degrees to angle 32 it's going to be 90° how do I know that because it is seconded interior 2 the angle with 90° again referencing prior to after our
