hello everybody this is mr.sun to use some extra notes for you to review quiz 1 so we want to take a look at a triangle in space answer the question how do you find the area of triangle ABC I'm posting two problems here that are a little bit different in class different I mean different numbers that way you can always go back to the one that we didn't apply to technique and I'm going to show you cheer and work it out on your own so I got this triangle ABC okay I want to get the area I need a face I need a height because you know that the area of a triangle is one half times the base and the height so what's the Basin what's the height issue here is done well I don't know where I have a right angle so let's look for some my take meat in class was look for right triangles can you see them and show you where they're at from a I'm going to draw a right triangle right here Maryland shooter and I'm going to draw another right triangle there I want to hear when they're and here's another one you see the rectangle I don't know this corner to this corner to this corner to this corner zoom in play I'm going to go ahead and code it for you so here's one right triangle right there okay there's one the other one is shear the other one and then last one right so I'm going to ask myself okay What's the total rectangle equal this would be one two three so this distance is three this distance here is 1 2 3 4 set a total area forgot rectangle area of that rectangle is well for Sims 3 now let's do the area the triangle that is highlighted Orange what is this distance distance is to this distance is or so it's one half of the base or the High 2 James 4:8 empty area for what about the triangle in Blue Area of that triangle see that person's right here 1 1 2 3 it's Justin's here that's going to be 1/2 * 1 3 which is a total of 301.5 who won in the final one little small try when is pink one this is one and this is one too 3 the area that last triangle is 1/2 * 1 * 3 is also 1.5 sitting in higher area is 12 subtract 4 subtract 1.5 subtract 1.5 and what do you get 12 - 4 is 8 - at 3:25 so the area triangle a b c scampi 5 and again I'm using the technique faster than corn I'm using the technique of looking for right triangles everywhere to find triangle ABC here in the middle now take another look there's a different triangle call it a prime B Prime C Prime I want to get the area of this triangle okay well I know that the area is 1/2 times the base times too high notice cheer if I was to flip this around what's this look at you try and go this way isn't this the height and isn't this the base so the base year is one two three in the Heights Here is 1 to 3 okay so my area is going to be 1/2 x 3 x 3 9 1/2 of 9 area here is 4.5 all right I hope this help this is all about finding areas are using the technique of looking for right triangles here you couldn't find right triangle what we did was we looked at our shape in it from a different perspective looking for that face looking for the season
