You stay focused from bell to bell. You transition efficiently from task to task, getting materials out and settling down to work in small groups quickly. Your in-class work demonstrates attention to detail and effort. You listen actively to directions and follow lab safety procedures.

You transition well from task to task, though you may spend some class time chatting. You are quick to work on in-class assignments, and participate in your small group. You listen to instructions and follow directions. Assignments are turned in on time and show effort. Your Chromebook is always charged.

You chat with classmates in a way that interferes with instruction, and have to be asked to stop chatting. You sometimes don’t follow directions. You are not always on task when working in small groups. You do not have materials out and ready when class starts. Your work may be incomplete. You do in-class assignments, but may take short-cuts (simple sentences, fragments, etc.). You have your Chromebook, but lose class time because it’s not charged.

You resist in-class work, by taking a long time to get out materials, glue in pages, moving into small groups slowly, etc. You do work only when it’s collected or done for a grade. You tune out during instructions and/or directions, and then take instructional time asking the teacher to repeat himself. You may sit back and let your classmates do small group work. You often chat with classmates, and have to be asked to stop chatting. Assignments are late or incomplete. You often come to class without a charged Chromebook. You do not make up missed work.

You disrupt class by chatting or joking around with classmates and have to be asked to stop regularly. You come to class without supplies. You don’t take in-class assignments seriously. You don’t save or organize handouts, articles, or graded work. You are often not alert in class. You have been disrespectful to the teacher or to your fellow students. You may have been sent outside for a "reset" because of behavior. You have been caught cheating. You regularly come to class without a charged Chromebook.
