Welcome to U.S. History with Mrs. Keating!
Hello Students and Parents!
I'm excited to take you on a journey of American history from the first Americans to 1900. We will explore the first people living on the continent, the reasons behind the founding of our nation, the American Revolution, the Constitution, the Civil War, westward expansion, industry, and urban growth.
Through critical thinking and questioning, you will take on the role of a historian. Together we will discover how the country has grown and evolved!
This is my 26th year teaching U.S. History at Fisher Middle School. I'm the most veteran teacher on campus, having started in 1999. I have my BA in Sociology from U.C. Santa Cruz and my Master's in Education from National University. I attended Union Middle School and Leigh High School. My daughter is a 5th-grade student at Van Meter. I also come from a long line of educators.
In the links below, you will be able to access your History period’s Google Classroom. This is where you will find your assignments, due dates, and important information. Please make sure to check Google Classroom daily to stay up-to-date on tasks for our class. Also, if you are absent, please make sure to check Google Classroom for missed assignments.
Assignment grades will be updated in Powerschool weekly. Students and parents are encouraged to check Power School for any missing or late assignments.
As 8th graders, this is your last year at Fisher. Let's work together to make it your best year!
