hello it's your family's we're here to learn about next year's electives for the 22 23 school year this is for our Rising 7th and 8th graders sarkar 6th and 7th hour fifth graders received a more detailed video explaining the wheel and such but this also has a slight preview of the sixth grade electives so a little bit different than last year your students will be choosing their electives in flat at school on April 7th so please take taking time to review this video with your student talk about your preferences and have them ready to choose their elective on April 7th so these are the things we're going to review today the 6th grade 7th grade and 8th grade electives as well as the understanding around the double electives only for 8th graders so here's the 6th grade elective offerings of the exploratory wheel which includes the work horses for a quarter each of students rotate through those four courses or they take a year-long course of choir band or streams these are the pathways for 6th grade you're either in pathway one here for music year-long course of band choir or strings or urine Pathway to the exploratory wheel so you're in each of these four courses for a quarter each and the order in which you start depends on where star placed in the wheel at the time for our 7th graders to our current 6th graders again we have the exploratory wheel a quarter of Spanish language and culture a quarter of French language and culture electronic music or seen 101 this is the exploratory wheel again quarter long classes below that you see these are the year-long courses the students may choose for a 7th grade start seeing you next amazing yearbook ta video productions band choir or strings here are the pathways for 7th graders if your music student urine pathway one choosing one of these three your lawn courses if you are an exploratory wheel student you are choosing Pathway to rotating through these four courses for a quarter each and then pathway 3 choosing one of these year-long elective courses that you may interested in for your 7th grade year for 8th graders all of our courses are year-long electives there is no wheel in the 8th grade so each of these courses that you choose your there for the school year to note that French one year and Spanish one year are the high school equivalents of French 1 and Spanish one dust of your student completes these courses with proficiency they will matriculate to the high school and start with French to or Spanish to so these are considered high school courses these are the two Pathways for our 8th graders pathway one is one of these year-long courses there you'll see the French and the Spanish embedded if your student who is interested in music and language you'll be taking two electives which would require you to also take a zero. So that's both PowerSchool 0. This year is PE and will likely continue to be PE for those students that choose to do a music course and a language course we made this change to the one language course a year ago to allow for greater access for all students who wanted to take the year-long courses to be able to do so so there's a further explanation of that same topic you have questions about your electives you should email your Alpha appropriate counselor Christie mullican is for last names a through Kaye and Sarah to get a new can you use for last names l2z their email dresses are there for you please remember your student will be choosing their elective in class in flax at school on Thursday April 7th thank you so much we look forward to getting everybody ready for the 22 93 school year
